Mac OS: (mak' o es), n. 1. Apples Macintosh Operating System.Kudos (ku' dose), n. 1. praise, approval.
Qudos (ku' dose) n. 1. QMUG/LAs operating system, of showing our appreciation for and to people who have helped to bring QMUG/LA to where it is today and who are helping to take QMUG/LA to where it is going tomorrow. This is exemplified at our annual awards ceremony where we hand out Certificates of Appreciation to that years officers, presenters and significant others. Check out our
Certificates of Appreciation for 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004. QMUG/LA would especially like to thank:
Robb Ottenhoff for running the ads* in Frontiers newsmagazine in May 94 that brought us together and sparked the interest to form what became QMUG/LA.
Kevin Pfeiffer for being one of the first people outside of QMUG/LA to be excited about QMUG/LA and to really believe in it and what it could become, for giving QMUG/LA its first internet address, and for helping transform QMUG/LAs once single-level discussion folder into a full-blown multi-level conference on his First Class computer bulletin board system, Digital Popcorn.
Brad Lohman, our Chief Financial Officer, Jun 94 - Jun 01, for dutifully collecting our end-of-meeting voluntary donations, running our end-of-year raffles, and maintaining our cashbox; Making ~21 presentations in his seven years of involvement; Co-facilitating meetings, and; Offering incredible moral support and strength to the other officers and to the group.
Past QORE Members for helping to bring QMUG/LA where it is today. We wouldnt be and could not have gotten here without you!
Past and future Presenters for giving QMUG/LA content and substance. Without you, people would have no reason to attend.
Past and future Attendees for giving QMUG/LA body and soul. Without you, QMUG/LA would have no reason to continue. See you at the next meeting!
The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center for being our meeting space for our first seven years, and continuing to receive our USPS mail.
Dr. Rawstock for allowing us to meet at their lovely facility w/ its beautiful overhead projectors and fast Internet connection.
And, lastly but not in the least, Apple for making such cool computers that we would even *want* to be Mac users, let alone a Mac users group, and for listing us in its User Group Referral Number, 1-800-538-9696.
Thank you all, each and every one of you, so very, very much!
