CONTACT MATTHEW REISS @ 323 956-4552 The 1930's was the age of the gangster, the luncheonette, and when phrases like "It's none of your beeswax" were invented. The Wall Street crash had already devastated the country. But one of the most amazing things to emerge out of that time is the Seabiscuit phenomenon. Seabiscuit emerged as the rags-to-riches American cultural icon, drawing an immense and fanatical following, and establishing himself as the single biggest news maker of 1938, receiving more coverage than FDR, Hitler, or any other public figure.
Now YOU can be a part of recreating some of the most famous horse races ever in the UNIVERSAL feature film "Seabiscuit". You will even get to "dress" as they did in the 1930s, with a few pieces from your Granddaddy's closet or your local Vintage store. We will provide food, prizes, period hats to wear and keep as souvenirs - and a very memorable, fun day at the races.
You will be an "Unpaid Spectator" on these days, part of a crowd at the racetrack in the 1930's, enjoying the filming of some of the greatest horse race recreations ever. Come and cheer Seabiscuit, War Admiral and other horse racing greats on (actually Film Stunt Race Horses) and see yourself in the movies.
And, for those of you that are interested, we will have an extra-casting information table set up with information you can take home with you, on how YOU may become a paid extra in future films. If this interests you, this fun day will be a great way to see how films are made, how it feels to be on the set, and how you may take the next step to work in the movie industry.
THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS WE NEED YOU TO CONSIDER:
If you are not sure whether or not you will be attending, wait to make your reservation. We have to make arrangements for food, parking, scene scripting etc.
If you make a reservation for more people than actually show up, when you arrive, you will be put in a standby line. Please do not register to come if you can not stay for the whole day. Films need something called "CONTINUITY", one shot needs to match the other.
NO ONE UNDER SIXTEEN WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SET. THOSE UNDER 18 MUST HAVE A RELEASE FORM SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN IN ADDITION TO THEIR OWN SIGNATURE.
You will get "what to wear" suggestions in the "On The Set" info pack you will receive after signing up to be in this film sequence. You will also receive a complete "Info Packet" that will contain: Dates, Times, Location, Parking, Maps, Description of Scenes being Filmed, What to Wear, Food, Prizes, Release Forms, Stunt descriptions, Do's and Don'ts, and lots, lots more fun info.
