To Whom This Concerns:Just a quick note to request two Certificates of Appreciation. This coming Monday, June 12th, 2000, QMUG/LA, the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Macintosh Users Group for all of Los Angeles, celebrates six years of meeting at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and helping people w/ their Macs. QMUG/LA would like to request a Certificate of Appreciation for each of its officers for this year:
Brad Lowman, Co-Chair of QMUG/LAs Hardware & FinancesDoan Stafford, Co-Chair of QMUG/LAs Website & Publicity
QMUG/LA began in June 1994 because Robb Ottenhoff of the Community Outreach and Education Department placed an ad in Frontiers Newsmagazine, and has met every month since. Topics from just this past year include: Burn Your Own CDs, Encyclopedias on CD, the History of Apple Computer, Internet Software Roundtable, Scanner Night, Speech Technology, and Web Authoring.Accomplishments this year include being interviewed by IMRU (which you can hear at its website), receiving a Best User Group Website Award for Small User Group Category by the User Group Academy in San Francisco, January 2000 (which you can see at its website), and having its websites main page surpass 10,000 hits.
QMUG/LA is special, and an asset to the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, in that (1) we are one of only two officially Apple-registered and recognized gay Mac groups in the world, (2) we have no gay PC/Windows user group equivalent, (3) our meetings are completely free of charge to attend, no membership fees or dues, (4) our website and meeting handouts regularly list Center activities.
In the envelope attached are extra monthly meeting handouts and photocopies of past certificates. If you have any questions, dont hesitate to call or e-mail us!
Sincerely,
Doan Thiel Stafford
