Hey Team L.A.,
First and foremost, I thank all of you again who replied to Chuck's msgabout logos. If you haven't had a chance to check out Chuck's handiwork, feel
free to do so at:
<http://www.mugcenter.com/macworld/mwsf2003/booth.html>
And now, here's the latest off the mailserver...!
1. Our big day: We will be staffing the User Group Booth on Wed, Jan 8th, 2003.Please check your calendars (and iCalendars) to make sure you'll be at MW on
Weds, and that you don't appear to have any conflicts for your 2-hour shift.
You only need to respond (as soon as possible) if you need to change yourshift, or you know you will not be at MW on Weds (if you can find a fellow
leader or member of your group who will be, that'd be great!).
2. Electricity will not be free, so if you will need to plug in your laptop,
digital camera or whatever for your shift, that'll be ~$75 for the entire Team
which will be divided amongst the people needing it.
You only need to respond to me by Sunday, December 15th, if you will needelectricity. I'll reply to you by Monday, December 16th, what your percent of
that $75 will be, and then will notify Chuck by Tuesday, December 17th.
3. Liability insurance will not be provided by the host group or anyone
else. "We obviously expect no problems, but want everyone to be completely
informed as to their status."
You only need to respond (as soon as possible) if your group has insurance,as the rest of us would be interested in knowing who you use, what you pay,
how long you've had it, etc.
4. Sales of anything will require a CA State Tax License and registration
with IDG -- there are severe financial penalties associated with violation, up
to $1,000 fine per occurrence.
You only need to respond directly to Chuck by Tuesday, December 17th, w/your CA Seller's Permit Number or CA Tax ID Number, if you plan on selling
anything (memberships, CDs, raffle tickets, etc.).
You can obtain an application for a Temporary Seller's Permit if necessaryby Application #DTF-17 from the California Board of Taxation and Finance's web
page at <http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/faqseller.htm#one>.
If you are caught selling w/o the permit paperwork having been properlycompleted and filed, you will be removed from the booth immediately and fined
shortly thereafter.
There you have it! If you have *any* questions, please don't hesitate to
let me and/or Chuck know! Thanks! I hope you're having a great holiday
season, and I'm totally looking forward to seeing you all up there!
Sincerely,
