> 6. What is this sites revision history?Nov 97: Headers, Qalendar, QORE, and Text Links.
(1) *All* the largest header tags on *each* page were replaced by largest paragraph tags, which are actually larger than the header tags. This makes the letter Q about the same size/height as our logo.
(2) The Qalendar section was highly revamped, with the Qurrent Qalendar page and linked pages for each year of our existence going from all black monospaced type to what it is now, and our Qalendar by Presenters, by Topic Index and Matrix were added.
(3) The QORE page was updated to include Loretta.
(4) And lastly, *all* text-links at the bottom of *each* page were revamped. I thought the vertical bar (|) was too divisive so I replaced it w/ white underlines (_). This should make this section appear cleaner, less cramped.
Jan 98: ALT tags, curly/smart apostrophes and quotes, and em-dashes were added we cant have "straight" quotes on this gay website!. Were also proud to say that no ads, animated gifs, blinking text, frames or PCs were used in the creation of this site.. =)
Mar 98: text navigationbar, copyright, weekly webstat matrix, QORE docs(1) *All* text-links at the bottom of *each* page were revamped. I thought two to three rows took up too much vertical space, so I reduced their pt size, and mirrored their order of appearance to that of the graphic navigationbar. *Much* better!
(2) In addition to copyright meta tags, All http://www.qmug.org pages are © QMUG/LA 1996-1998. now appears in white at the bottom of each page. When you save a webpage as text, the meta tag info doesnt appear, so now that this copyright info is also text, white text, it will.
(3) An average weekly hit statistics page now summarizes site activity before subjecting people to the details at qmug.org/usage.
(4) And lastly, a page listing all documents pertinent to QORE members went up.
May 98: graphic navigationbar, mounted volumes, JavaScript, Documents folder, Qalendar Matrix.(1) *All* the imagemap menubar-navigationbars on *each* page were replaced by a 640 pixel tablecell made up of individual images, so now:
(a) Our menubar finally works in AOL 2.7 & 3, and MS IE 2 & 3.
(b) This modularity allows more pages to have their menubars to be custom dated.
(c) When you save a page as text to your hard disk, rather than a general menubar ALT tag at the top, you get Apple menu, Welcome!, FAQs, etc.
(d) This also allows the Chapter menu to pop down along side our logo and page title, rather than force this to appear under it.
(2) Our site *finally* gets the mounted volumes Ive wanted forever. And now, because each desktop item is its own image, this should allow for a more dynamic desktop.
(3) Now through JavaScript, all menubar and desktop item images can rollover to other images when your pointer moves over them. Cool!
(4) Our Documents folder defaults to an awesome Finder-like by-date listview, w/ the option to see it in by-name listview. Each document in this folder now sports the standard QMUG/LA menubar (no more Special menubars), and *all* pages include the Documents folder in their text navigationbars towards the bottom of each page.
(5) And lastly, our Qalendar Matrix column widths erraticness has been erradicated!
May 2000: new Aqua appearance, hit stats, Qalendar matrix and timeline, and page signatures(1) Updated the entire sites platinum appearance to a pre-Mac OS X Aqua appearance.
(2) Reworked About This Websites Quarterly and Monthly hit stats matrices.
(3) Reworked our Qalendar matrix, and added a QMUG/LA timeline.
(4) Added to each pages signature www.qmug.org
Aug 2001: Added to the QORE section new Directory, Docs, Links, and QOREspondence pages.
May 2002: More accurate Mac OS X appearance, new menubars, new desktop patterns, new Dock, new Documents folder, page consolidations, page copyrights and text-rollovers.(1) Updated the entire sites pre-Mac OS X Aqua appearance to a more accurate post-Mac OS X Aqua appearance by:
(a) Updating every pages graphic and text menubars; Deactivating or deleting their Help Guides and Chapter Menus and redirecting people to our FAQs and Qonnections pages, respectively.
(b) Creating nine new Ripples desktop patterns.
(c) Adding a Dock, and unlike 98s desktop items, making many additional dock items, and for documents that are actually complete and not just placeholders, to help facilitate a more dynamic interface.
(d) Updating our Documents folders appearance by turning off link-underlining and by specifying the font Arial.
(2) Consolidated all of our Certificates of Appreciation pages out from under our QORE section to now be more logically under our Qudos section.
(3) Updated every pages copyright through 2003.
(4) Added text-rollovers and our current meeting time and address to all current pages.
