Heres a peak at QMUG/LAs Certificates of Appreciation for 2002!Our 7 Presenters get green...
Our 3 Officers get purple...
And QMUG/LAs 4 Significant Others get blue...!
These JPGs cant do these Certificates justice, because these Certificates just look so incredibly beautiful on their glossy cardstock in person. Theres actually a bit of a story behind this years Certificates, but I figured youd want to see them first before reading about them, which you can do right now:For QMUG/LAs first seven years, we met at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, and at the end of each year (w/ our reminding), they would create Certificates of Appreciation for our officers. Since for this past year we did not meet at the Center, we couldnt really expect certificates from them for us...
And for QMUG/LAs first seven years, Brad Lohman one of QMUG/LAs founders, longtime officers and regular presenters would create Certificates of Appreciation for our presenters. Since Brad stepped down as an officer last year, we couldnt really expect certificates from him for us, either...
So what were we to do...? Well, as one of QMUG/LAs *other* founders, longtime officers and regular presenters, I was actually thrilled and excited about the prospect of creating this years certificates, and I hope you like the results...
These certificates were created in FileMaker Pro 2.0 using the font Donata at points 60, 30, 15, 9 and 6, as well as Times italicized at 60 and 12. (And Monaco at 6 for the @ sign, which Donata seems to lack.)
These certificates give you a peak at qmug.orgs new Mac OS X menubar using anti-aliased Lucida Grande. The desktop picture is OS Xs Flow 1, and Photoshops Adjust Color Balance created green and blue versions.
The Docks iPhoto and iDVD icons are courtesy of Martinas 933, was put together via GIFConverter and had some detail added to it via Photoshop. (qmug.org will also have a Dock, but not this one.)
And as convenient as that would be to print these via my Epson Stylus Photo 1200, Ill print them via a color laser printer at Kinkos onto glossy cardstock.
Ive received my share of certificates over the years (from the Center, not from QMUG/LA), but I have to say that this is one of the first that I think Ill actually hang up on the wall.
So thats a peak at QMUG/LAs Certificates of Appreciation for 2002! I hope you like them as much as I do, and will enjoy yours as much as Ill enjoy mine.
ds. =)
